A webshop that works for customers and colleagues alike
Van Egmond has been working with Etidome since 2014. This Dutch wholesale distributor in electrotechnical products came on board for an update of their webshop. From the start, design was taken seriously. Van Egmond brought in an external agency, the same party responsible for their corporate identity, to shape the interface. The result was a webshop built around their brand, not just their assortment.
Built for customers, adopted by everyone
The webshop was developed primarily for Van Egmond's customers. In practice, it quickly became something more. Internal staff started using it too, preferring it over their own ERP system when they needed accurate product information. The intuitive search made the difference. Finding a product in the webshop turned out to be faster and easier than navigating the ERP.
A benchmark for the industry
After launch, the Van Egmond webshop became a reference point for other wholesale distributors. The accessibility and findability of the platform set a standard that others measured themselves against.
Findability that reaches beyond existing customers
Van Egmond's assortment scores well in search engines. That means potential customers who have never heard of Van Egmond land on the webshop through Google. The platform doesn't just serve existing relationships. It brings in new ones.
Direct data exchange via OCI
For Van Egmond we also developed an Open Catalogue Interface. This allows product data to be shared and exchanged directly with third party channels, without manual exports or conversions. A clean connection between Van Egmond's catalogue and the systems of their partners.
The result is a platform that serves customers and supports internal teams equally well. The OCI extends that reach directly into the systems of their partners.
